Ladies,

I'm in the shared risk program and received my password today and I was pleasantly surprised with donors.

I will say they have a very fast turnaround time as I finished my prescreening yesterday and received password this morning.

Kristi,

Our clinic actually selected a few donors for us based on a list we compiled of characteristics we would like plus things we absolutely MUST have, like whether we wanted a caucasian, Asian, or African American donor. Then we picked between the choices. We actually had only two donors who personified most of what we were looking for on paper. As for the tie breaker we were only allowed to see baby and young pictures of our donors so we ended up going with the one we thought looked most like me since we know DH will be represented since he was the donor sperm. :) We just ended up feeling really good about that decision so I hope you will find that as well.

Congrats on moving forward!

When we first got the password, like Spencer, there were a few who rose to the top.

wow, that was quick, with a full match within a day? crazy!
I hope that you find the right match soon.

I think there are some things that are better with the new boards, and some things I'll miss.
I do like the quick reply and no preview :)

Spencer,

Yes, the donor was gone within a day which is why I think there may not have been a lot of new activity recently.

I have heard very good things about Kara. I hope she's helpful to you.

I believe once I got my password, I spent an afternoon looking at the donors and doing pros-cons ... and we decided pretty quickly, like that day or the next.

I think there were probably a dozen in the 1:3 program at the time, 1 frozen. I took 4 or 5 to the pros and cons stage.

I don't think it's usual for matches to occur *that* quickly. Over 2-3 days I can see, but in the space of an afternoon? I wonder if what happened was not that 3 people in the 1:3 match took the donor, but rather that someone in 1:1 or 1:2 chose the donor so they were no longer in the 1:3 program. Maybe Kara can clarify.

Does your DH have internet access at work? Can you email him a profile so he can look at it and maybe you can move more quickly?

Good luck!
