Going to 2 pumps

DD turns 1 on November 5th and I have about 29 days worth of milk in the freezer. My hope is to go directly to cows milk without using any formula. I'm going down to 2 pumps per day on her 11 month birthday. At 3 per day I'm making about 25 ounces and she drinks about 26. I'm hoping by going to 2 to only lose about 8 ounces max.

I'm interested in hearing how the transition to cow's milk has gone for others too. My DD turns 1 on 11/3, but I think I'll be waiting until February or so to make the transition because I still want her to get the extra nutrients from BM. I am afraid to drop below 4 pumps because I don't know how many ounces I'll lose, and want to make sure I have enough in case it takes my DD a long time to transition fully to cow's milk.

We haven't gone to cow milk. DD just gets 11 oz total, 5 morning 6 night. Before I got sick, I was pumping around 25 oz on 2x a day now its around 14/15

We do other forms of dairy during the day. My ped says drinking cow milk isn't super necessary. Let me know how it goes, because I'd like to try eventually.

BTW, Nov 5th is my birthday too!

The transition to cow's milk didn't go all that well for us. :smileysad: DS doesn't tolerate cow's milk well...any amount and he gets constipated. So I've stopped giving both twins CM (so much easier than keeping track of who's cup is whose and worrying about if he drinks some). Like Melissa, I am working on getting their calcium and vitamin D in in other ways.

I only get about 14-15 oz. a day (pumping 2x), so the babes each get approx. 7 oz. At 3x a day

So far I've dropped from 24-26 ounces down to 21-22 and I think I'm still dropping. So far no AF and I'm hoping she'll stay at bay until I stop all together.

Seems like we've got a few turning 1 within the first week of November. How's the party planning going?

My DD is turning 1 on 11/3, and we're having her party on the 6th or 7th. We're in Texas so the weather is nice, and we're having her party at a park near our house. We're doing a Sesame Street theme.

I'm embarassed to say that I've done no planning whatsoever yet. It'll only be family at our home, so nothing big. But I do have to get to it! LOL

What are your plans?

Morgan turns 1 on the 5th and we're having the party on the 6th, mostly family. I got the invitations and the party stuff from amazon, Owls going HOOT HOOT looks who's turning 1. Need to decide on a cake. I think I'm going to make her a small one with Abby Cadabby on it and order the bigger cake.

Update on going to 2 pumps.

I've continued to lose supply and have gone from 21 ounces 6 weeks ago, down to between 14-16 now.

DD is now getting cow's milk
