Hi there, new to this particualr board, just wondering how long the sleepiness during the day lasted...I have two small children and I can't really sleep all day.....I just started taking it today, and I feel better as the night goes on....25 twice a day then 100 twice a day......I think that ya'll are great and you give great advice...Just reading some of the posts made me feel better, ya'll are so smart and thoughtful!!! I feel little "want to be by myself" right now, but I am sure that is going to go away. I love spending time alone, away from all of it, but that could be the manac...I don't know, not a doc...thank goodness....I know what I think of drs so I know I wouldn't want to be one LOL if you know what I mean.....So anyways sorry blah blah blah...LOL I to vent a little. I can see that I am starting to feel a little better and it was just the first pill, lets pray and hope that it works...I have been through tough times recently...newly diagnosed to hypothyroid, put on 7 different anxiety pills and they all did the same thing....panic attacks.....so I have to admit I was real hesitant on taking this one.....But once the dr told me that it makes you sleepy I could have kissed him LOL I need something to calm me down......Hope anyone has any comments to post.....any opinoin is greatly appreciated and hope anyone looking for some advice or suggestions or even hope, I really hope this helps.

God bless and thanks for spending time reading and posting!!! :)

Amy,

I'm on Seroquel 800mg a day. 2 200mg pills twice a day. I stay sleepy. I've been on it a while now (approx. 1 yr give or take). I can tell you I can take it at home and hit the couch and I'm out in 5 minutes. I don't sleep through the night though. When I take it in the morning....OMG....I'm beat, my eyes are heavy and I can't concentrate on my work.

I wish you the best of luck!!!!!!

I hate to tell you this, but Seroquel made me a complete zombie, and I stayed sleepy on it...I took 200 mgs ONLY at night, and I stayed sleepy all the next day as well. It also made my depression worse. I hope you do much better on it than I did. I know there are others here to take it. I know it definitely helped me sleep all night.

Good luck and welcome! Its nice to meet you! I hope you'll stick around get to know us all better!

Hugs,

Keli

The same thing is happening to me that happened to Keli. I've only been on it for a few days... last night was 200 and tomorrow night will be 300. I'm tired all the time, no emotion, very weak, droping things and my hand tremors are back. I'm calling my doc tomorrow but I hope this can be a drug to work for you and if it's not that they find the one magic drug for you :)

please let me know what the dr says. I have 2 small kids to take care of, so I can't afford to be tired all the time. Granted it makes me feel a little better, but I don't want to sleep all day, how long does this last, Don't side effects last only a couple of weeks? I go up to 100 tomorrow so I could just imagine what is going to happen. Zombiefied!!! LOL

Sorry, I've had a rough week so I"m a little out of it but I'll try to respond.

I'm on Seroquel in addition to Lamictal and Zoloft. Apparently I'm sensitve to medications? because all of my doses are on the low side. Zoloft 50, Lamictal 150 and Seroquel 100. I take the first two in the morning and Seroquel at night - because it does make me tired. I have a hard time getting up in the morning, but I'm not a morning person and that has always been difficult for me. I was on 25 for a while (dunno, couple months) on an as needed basis to help me sleep (due to racing thoughts and whatnot) when started to have problems with mania starting doc moved up to 100. Was zonked for a week or two and feel pretty average now. I'm groggy without excercise, but beyond that pretty much feel like myself. I think for every person it's different, but the zombi-ness should wear off. Either way, it might help to talk to doc about your concerns. I'm interested to hear from anyone else who has been on Seroquel for a while.
