I am writing to let you know about the Seroquel. From the earlier post it helped most people sleep through the night. I do not do this. I'm up for several hours almost nightly. I can't remember when the last time I stayed in bed and asleep. It truly does make me groggy (the Seroquel), but so far my dosage is much larger than anyones I have read about on the board, I could be wrong.
Some have asked me how I stay alert all day long. My grogginess only lasts a few hours and then I'm good, if I can stay awake. Usually if I'm home and take it I can fall asleep w/in a few minutes and sleep deep for approx. 2-4 hours, then I'm wide awake for a few then back to sleep. But....if I take it at work, say I missed my a.m. dose and I'm rushing and I have to take it when I get to work...my eyes are heavy for around 1.5 hours and then I'm fine.
Like I mentioned before, I'm on 800mg a day of Seroquel and 25mg of Paxil Cr as well as vistaril for nerves, and I can't sleep throughout the night. I may very well be the only one it doesn't keep me sleepy.
For my side effects on Seroquel I've noticed that they have not gone away but they do not last near as long as they did in the past. I was like you, I thought I would battle the side effects for a few weeks and then I'd be all better, no sickly feelings, etc...., I wish I were right but I'm not. The symptoms were just awful, but they did lessen, I am not nearly as sleepy now.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
