Is there such a thing as a BPII mixed state? officially I am BPII but I seem to be having a mixed state with hypomania/depression and not mania/depression, along with rage. I've been trying to keep detailed accounts of this all to give to pdoc, he's a new pdoc only seen him 2x I think. Been dxed for 4 years and NEVER experienced anything like this. I'm so scared I feel like I may need to be in the hospital. I was going to go down and see if I could get admitted to the hospital but I don't know if I can pay for parking to apply for medicaid. You see, I have to work tomorrow, and the next day and I just don't know if I can handle it. I don't know if I'm safe to be in this house even with my boyfriend here. I know he's really worried about me. He's been with me through one hospitalization already. I wish there was a magic pill. What do they normally do for mixed states? just your normal course of mood stabilizers? that's the only thing I can think of, or possibly an antipsychotic (no I'm not going to self treat, that's what got me into this in the first place). A girl I talk to on another board called me all the way from England because I posted something about wanting to cut myself to bring myself back to reality... there still are people out there with kindness in their hearts. I was so amazed.

YES, its quite possible to have a mixed state with BPII and I really think you need to go to the ER. You aren't safe, and you've recognized that. When I had my mixed episode, I had to be hospitalized and got the usual course of stabilizers, but the thing that helped the MOST was an antipsychotic...and yes, self medicating got me there too...so don't do that...
if you need me, and have AOL IM, i'm kelisthabomb...IM me...
i'll check back in a bit to see if you have any more questions or need anything else...
above all else, STAY SAFE! the cutting only helps for a minute...then you crash again...
Hugs,
Keli
