Since we have a lot of new &/or returning members, how about a round of introductions with: name/nickname, age, location, a bit about yourself

Hi, my name is Kristin, 34 years, and live in the Chicagoland area, grew up in Chicago, now live in NW Sub. I am married and have two wonderful children Tommy 4 years old, my little red headed Paxil boy, (I took that drug while pg) and Danny 7 months (my bald, blue-eyed Effexor boy). Struggled with major depression since 22 and suspected I might be bipolar for a long time, but not till my doc saw first hand what happens did she feel we should treat me as such. I went into her office on a Sunday (she is Hindu, so she works whenever!) and she was proud and how great I looked and I told her all about my second job in sales (what???) and the new clothes I was wearing. Then by Tuesday, I called her and said how horrible I felt. She knew there was a problem and now we are addressing it. I have so many questions....

Hi, my name is Sue, I'm 42 and live in New Jersey (just across the Hudson from lower Manhattan and yes, I saw it all that day!)

I'm single, lost the love of my life to this illness almost 5 years ago. Don't live alone though,

peace and love,

Hi,

Just checking in...on my new laptop that I bought when my moods started cycling this weekend. (Spent almost $2000 in 2 hrs! Good grief!) The mania was over w/in half a day, and now I'm back to being depressed. I'm just trying to hang on until my meds have kicked in.

Kinda paranoid today too, so I'm opting out on the other questions.

Later,
Beth

Hi, I'm Keli...34 years old...mother of an almost 14 year old son, Eric...I have been Bipolar since I was 14 years old, but only dx'ed 2.5 years ago and MAN has it been a roller coaster ride...FINALLY feeling better and on the right meds...so don't give up hope! I work full time for the State of Florida, where I live in Tallahassee...as a budget analyst...it wasn't easy for the last 2 years, but I made it through.

HUGS!

Hi Keli ~ as best as I can describe it, I'm still on the roller coaster between the agitation/anxiety/depression.

Hey all! I'm Tracey in MN. I am 32 (almost 33) and the single mom of a great spoiled 9 year old (well, 9 next week) dd Savannah. I was dx'd when I was 17, treated for 1 1/2 years, and then dropped all meds in good ole BP fashion and struggled miserable until 2 Septembers ago when I finally hit bottom (my checking account alone was overdrawn by over $3K). Now I have a FANTASTIC pdoc that I think the world of and doing wonderfully on my lithium with a topamax suppliment. I even actually was given an unsecured credit card this week!!!! It's been a long hard struggle and the bill collecters are still calling from the crash but it is a whole new world being stable and I love it! :)

Hang in there as tightly as you can! It takes a little while for the meds to kick in, which really sucks...do you have anything for anxiety?

Hugs,

Keli
