I know you all can't take the place of doctor, but I thought I'd ask your advice before I see my doc.
I have been treated for depression for about three years now. Basically just prozac and I haven't been on it the whole time. Recently my marriage crumbled and in an attempt to save it I was able to get in and see a psychologist who suggested that I see my doc for a reconsult on the diagnosis of depression. He thinks I may suffer from a different mood disorder. he didn't say bipolar exactly but I have been researching it and it seems like me. I can be very angry at my husband for example over something sometimes pretty stupid and then with in say five or ten minutes of the arguement be all happy and ready to play and joke. I cry a good bit and feel as though everyone is talking about me or that most people hate me. I can be in a perfectly fine mood and the slightest thing will get me going. Also I feel like things are my fault when in reality I really am not to blame.
If bipolar is what I have what are my chances of leading a normal life. I am so tired of blowing up at my kids I can't explain it.
thanks for you in put,
steph

Hi and welcome...there are many mood disorders that could explain your behavior...so I can't tell you that Bipolar is what you may have...Borderline personality disorder is one that comes to mind...with your anger issues...but what do I know?? LOL.
I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted! Feel free to post here as much as you want! There is a Borderline Personality board too, if you'd like their opinions.
Hugs!
