I had been writing and feeling depressed for a while there but when I looked at my posts and journals from that time I see what seems to be my manic side showing. Could it be a mixed state? Not so sure about what exactly it is. Anyone notice this? I guess you might have to see all the posts from msn and here and my journal to see the picture that I see.

Feedback?

Amanda,

I can't really add to what Marci has already said.

Hey hon...as for mixed states...if indeed you ARE in a mixed state, it WILL get worse before it gets better...so I agree with Marci...call your pdoc, or clinic, or go to the ER for some help as soon as you can...I had a HORRIBLE mixed state episode, and ended up getting psychotic and going to the ER and staying in the hospital for about 5 or 6 days...but it totally was where i had to be at that point in time...and it wasn't horrible at all!

I don't know if what I had was a mixed state or agitated depression (the same?), but even though I felt like complete crap, wanted to sleep but couldn't and cried a lot. But at the same time, I counldn't stop doing things, I wanted to write all the time and even thought I had the answers to changing my illness. Usually, in the morning I felt horrible, by lunch time I could conqure the world, if the horrible anxiety would go away and by the evening I would be going crazy with fear and depression. I saw may docs, in the afternoon, and they thought I would doing great and couldn't understand the problem. Is this kind of like what you were experiencing?

Oh Amanda...

You're not bugging anyone. You're helping us know we aren't allone with this terrible disease. Think of it as a service for others when you post.

Now...mixed mania and depression I know well and it's not fun. I'm sorry you're going through this. I have to agree with eveyone else. You need help ASAP. If for some reason your pdoc puts you off, go to the ER. I feel mixed states are the most dangerous states for me to be in. I had to go inpatient for a few days the last time I was mixed. It really helped.

I hope you feel better soon.

Love to you,

Jamie
