HI,I am not new to Ivillage, but I am new to this particular board.I was diagnosed with BP last spring, and shortly after I found out that I was pregnant with our 6th child. I am due next month and I am still having trouble being pregnant and trying to cope with all my triggers. As I know that they will be coming back to me when this baby is born,as alot of my triggers has to do with my in laws.DOes anyone have any suggestions?? It would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi arwyn,

First, welcome to this board! I'm glad you found us. You'll really like the people here.

My only suggestion would be learn relaxation exercises or meditation. I had problems with my xh and learning these really helped when the triggers came. I actually learn how to slow down my mind when it gets really bad. I learned how to do this in the hospitol but, I'm sure any good tdoc would be able to show you how to do this or recommend some tapes.

The second suggestion I have is to keep posting we're here for you. Other than that I have nothing. I have no in-laws now and when they were alive my dh acted as a buffer between us.

I'm sorry if this wasn't much help. I'm sure someone wiser than me will be along to give you more ideas. Again Welcome!

Love,

Jamie

Thanks,I think that any little thing will help.As for my husband he is just finally learning to stand up to his family and that it is not ok,for them to treat me like crap. But with so many things that have happened in the past,it is hard to be around his family. It's hard not to over-focus on what has happened in the past with them. I am so glad to have stumbled across this board. And I look forward to any advice or any other way I can help anybody else out too.Once again thank you.
