So Called Friends.....

I'm irritated as all get out. I have a friend that everyone (other friends, our husbands, our kids, etc) considers my best friend. Her husband (whom I also know VERY well--the three of us worked together for 5 years) did something that ticked me off and I yelled at him. He knew my opinions and my reasons for the opinions and he went against my wishes and did something he should have known better than doing (sorry for the lack of specifics--I can't really go into that). Anyhow, I yelled at him and he took it like a man. I talked to her and told her what happened and why and she was fine with it. We chatted for a while longer and things were fine. Then I didn't hear from her for over 3 weeks. I'd run into her places and she would hide. I knew I ticked her off so over the course of the 3 weeks I instant messaged her once, paged her once, left her a voice mail once and text messaged her once (I usually talk to her like 4 times a day). I also left her Christmas present on her deck during this time (although I knew she was mad--I didn't knock or anything. I dropped it off and left a message on her phone telling her to pick it up so the dogs didn't get it). Anyhow, today she sends me this big long rambling ticked off email. I respond nicely and calmly...the first time. They she sends me another email demanding an apology. I am not going to apologize for something I did not do. SHE called ME immature. What do you call the stuff she has been doing for the last month? I've known her for 5 years and this really sucks, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. It's her loss, but why do people pull this petty stupid crud? She was complaining about all this really riduculous stuff that was he said, she said, you said stuff and then she accused me of not confronting her when I had a problem with what she was doing. I don't understand what the heck she is talking about all I know is that the person that was supposed to be my best friend has now told me to go to h-e-double toothpick. Anyhow, after she demanded an apology, I told her she was freaking crazy and that I wasn't going to apologize to anyone that called me a loud mouthed, unappreciative and immature. I'll accept the loud mouthed (hey, it's true and I know it) but the rest is just ridiculous. Can you tell I'm irritated? I feel better now though. Thanks for letting me vent. Amanda P.S. Good thing I proof read this--it was FULL of nasty language the first time. :)

(((((Amanda))))) I really don't know what to say. But, I do understand how you feel and I'm sorry that you have to go through it.

(((((Amanda))))),
So sorry you're having to deal with this, it's bad enough when our BP friends pull this kind of crap, but at least we know where it's coming from.
((((Amanda))))
I hope that things can work out for you two. It is really tough when things like this happen. Give her time.
Love, hugs and tranquility,
The other Amanda
ps vent all you like.
