Someone (I think Maci) asked me to post what I found out from my pharmisist/herbal person.

Well...it was interesting. Went up to her and told her I wanted to talk to her about bipolar and menopause...the first thing out of her mouth was bioidentical hormone therapy. She wouldn't even recommend anything herbal for me because (since she handles all my scipts) she knows how fagile my bp can be. So I said to myself "Okay I trust Jennifer". I decide to ask my doc to get a second opinon anyway and the first thing out of her mouth was bioidentical hormone therapy. So since these are two women who I've trusted with my life and who have literal saved my life when I was out of control and couldn't find a pdoc I'm going to trust them in this. I am taking a little time to do some research on my own. I want to go into this fully aware of the risks. I'm going to have a physical with a momogram and EKG to start. I will be going on a low dose of estrigin (sp?). I don't have to take pregestrin (SP?) because I had a histerectomy many years ago. So well see how it goes. The momo is tomorrow and the physical is on Monday the 24th. I'll keep you posted. I feel allot better about all this now. I feel like I have a little team in my corner.

Jamie

Jamie,

It was me, thanks for the info--I'm going to do some further research on it and bring it up with my doc when I go back next month!

Marci,

I'll be glad to keep you posted. I'm sorry you're having trouble with your feet. I went into an endocrinologist (SP?) for a thyroid problem I was having because of Lithium. He checked everyones feet for Neuropothy. Mine were numb and I didn't even know it so he ran a glucose level and an A1C the rest is history.

Stopping soda is a big step. Try to get back to it. It can make the difference between diabetes or not believe it or not. I'm proud of you for taking a stab at it on your own.

Love,

Jamie
