Hi,
I went in for my menopause physical today. Everything went pretty well. We decided on a synthetic hormone. I couldn't gag down natural hormones because of the animal curlity thing. I can't eat veal or rabbit for the same reason. It just won't go down. The bioidenticals were out because I'm alergic to most cream bases and we couldn't find one I wasn't alergic to just smearing it on my skin. So I'm on a low dose of synthetic estorgen.
Keep your fingers crossed that this lifts me out of the depressions I've been fighting. My doc agrees that the depression just might be the perimenopause since this is a new development in the last 6 months. We'll see. I kind of feel bad because this should be a normal, natural phase of life but I just can't do it alone with the bp. I'm just at the beginning and the mood swings due to the hormone fluctuation are already leaving their mark.
Love,
Jamie

{{{{jamie}}}} i wish you the best possible outcome with the new med! i can relate to your situation with the animal cruelty thing. i have a 15 yo who has very similar views. and i, for one, also cannot eat veal, lamb or rabbit.
anyway, don't feel bad about not being able to do this 'solo'. many women, bp or not, need help getting through menopause. its okay. and you're not totally alone 'cause you've got us:) and we will be here to help you through.
you hang in there and keep us posted on how you are doing.
hugs!
traci
Jamie!
