Hi Honey,

I've never tried for State disability I am on SS. I never had to fight because they gave it to me right off. I'm one of the blessed LOL. I do know where you can get some good info. Try

This is the workmen comp and ssdi board. Marci, hopefully, will also chime in because she just went through a bunch of this.

thanks Marcie and Jamie. i went to that link and read some of the posts and immediately freaked out! theres just so much to do and it intimidates the heck out of me! i will try and get it together and try to do SOMETHING! .

It seems that everyone has a horror story about disability insurance. i live in New Jersey and they do have state disability here tho i don't know of many who get approved without a lawyer. i just freak out when i think of all the stuff i need to do to get this done. DH does not want me to go on disability because we are thinking of adopting and he thinks that it may hinder us from being approved. also, he thinks that i don't need disability cause he feels that i need to get back to work and i'll "feel better' i wanted to hide all the Knives over that one!

in gonna post a rant right away after i finishe this post so look out!

I work for State Government, for the retirement board. State disability is hard to get. Our members have to go to several board doctors and they all have to agree, or at least have a close agreement. We have people dying of cancer and other horrible diseases that have been turned down. I've seen where people have small problems, like bladder control problems get disability. HELLO, have they not heard of poise or other liners?

I'd go to your retirment board if you are a state worker, or someone covered under your State's govt retirement. If you're in WV, let me know!!!!!! Actually let me know what state you are in on a different post, put on the message line....HEY CARLA in WV or something so I can catch it quick. I only have internet at work.

I'll tell you though, the more persistant someone is in WV the better it is for them. Don't give up sweetie. It'll come to you. I hope you are in WV.
