How do you get rid of it?

Hi ladies!
I see where some of us are irritable and agitated. I can certainly agree. I was just sitting here wondering how the heck to make it go away. So far I am just on Lamictal (sp?) and it seems to be making me feel like my skin is coming off. The agitation is excruciating, far worse than any I have had before. Even at home I pace restlessly, unable to enjoy or concentrate on anything at all. Is there something out there that can help with this awful feeling? Could the Lamictal be doing it? I feel horrible right now. Even getting cramps and nausea with it now. Any suggestions? I'm getting desperate enough to call pdoc which I HATE!
Thanks for being there!! :)

Hi Jodie! Sorry to hear that you're having such a rough day. I'd recommend calling your doc. It's possible that you are having some type of a reaction to the Lamictal, or that the dose is subtherapeutic, or any number of things. You shouldn't be feeling like that on meds, though. Yes, there are meds that can help with the agitation and anxiety, but you'll have to call your pdoc for one of those as well, if he/she agrees that you need it.
When I am that wound up it can sometimes be tough to center myself again. If I happen to be actively cycling when I am like that, I usually need medication to get past that state. As far as my mood goes today, I was able to relax while playing with dd. It takes a LOT of determination to stay cranky around her, and I'm not that attached to my negative mood today. But like I said, if I were actively swinging now I wouldn't be able to shake it like that, and I would just have to keep a lid on it (as much as possible) and watch what I say/how I behave around other people.
Sorry I can't offer anything helpful. Just know that you're not alone! I hope it passes for you very soon. Call your doc though, because there are options available.

Jodie,
I got that same feeling on trileptal. I'm certainly not an expert, but I say call the pdoc. I know you don't want to, but they will help. Actually on the trileptal it got worse, to where I was paranoid and so irritable that you couldn't look at me w/o my yelling or cussing someone out. It was horrible. Now, off that med I do not feel that way. Call the pdoc, explain exactly what is going on and inform them that you need help NOW, don't relent, let them know by all means that you aren't feeling right.
I wish you all the luck in the world.
