This is the one that H just went on and his feet have swollen. He was wondering if this is a natural side effect of the drug.

Side note. He isn't doing any better while on it. He did good at first but we also got our taxes abck and while we had money everything was great. As soon as we didn't things weren't (but we have things to show for it at least) and he thinks it was me. Thinks when we have money I treat him good and when we don't he's a piece of crap. But his mood improves so much when we have money.

Anyone on probitil? He isn't but heard it doesn't cause weight gain. Is it any good? He has gained a lot of weight on the others and that is really getting to him. He was a 29/32 when we married 12 years ago and a 30/32 before the meds and wearing a 33/32 now that are to tight but he won't go to a bigger size (sigh). What can he do to help with the weight gain since it is making him feel worse about himself?

Hi Queen,

Zyprexa is notorious for weight gain. I was on it and blew up to 209...I'm 5'4". I was HUGE! I did start loosing weight very well on Atkins. I am not on Atkins now because I can't eat red meat. I am on a much stricter diet. The biggest thing is that you HAVE to watch what you eat(how much) and get some kind of exercise. Even if it's just walking 15 minutes twice a day it's a place to start. I am no longer on Zyprexa. I had to get off of it because of my diabetes (I had it before I went on the med.) I am on Geodon. It's the same type of med but ,I like it better and don't have the weight gain problem. I'm actually loosing weight on it. There are people here that could not tollerate the geodon.

The swelling of the ankles I never heard of. I never experienced it from the Zyprexa.

The mood improvement when you have money is normal. "Normies" even do that. Maybe not as far up and down as we do it but they still do.

Never heard of Probitil. I don't even know what class of drug it is. I tried to do some research on it but, couldn't get anything to come up.

All I can say about not being willing to go up a size in pant is...LoL I know how that feels. Now THAT'S normal! :o)

Hope this helps a little.

Love,

Jamie
