if anyone has read either of my other posts, you know that i am new here. i have been doing some med changes, so i have had a really rpough week. my bank just called me to say my checking account is 439$ over drawn. i don't know what the ____ happened, but now i am all flipping out about money again. i have to pay 238 dollars to the gas co. by the 16th, i also have to pay the electric by then, i have to pay another 429 to the board of real estate to keep my license, and my job. our mortgage is due, the car pmt. is due, along with the car insurance. i have just been noticeing the last few days that the kids need some new clothes. they are growing so fast, i can't keep up, and their shoes are too small, and my dds backpack is falling apart. i can give my daugter's two small clothes to my littlest son, but what dose that leave for the older kids? we just moved back into our house 2 months ago because we managed to borrow enouhg money to get it out of forclosure.
now i have to pay back that money too, and i feel like we are right back where we started.and i thought we were finally getting back on our feet. i can't deal with all this right now, but i have to. i am so frustrated, and scared, and angry. i needed to vent. when i say anything to my husband about the money issue, he feels i am blaming him.
i'm not, i'm just at my wits end about all this money stuff. something has to give, but i don't know what, and i am afraid it will be me. i have had days this week where i feel like i am literally barely hanging on,and this money stuff is very nearly pushing me over the edge.

I am so sorry you are having money problems. I can fully relate to it - when I was having so many problem (before I went back onto my meds) 1 1/2 years ago, I had my account overdrawn by $3500.

If you call your electric and gas company to make payment arrangements. Most of them are wonderful about it as long as you KEEP the arrangements - so be careful to make realistic ones.

Also - check to see if your state has any type of emergency financial relief program. When I lost my job a couple years back, I was able to get 2 1/2 months rent and help with utilities covered. Their only restrictions were that you had to have a source of income (so that the help was actually going to get you out of trouble and not just be a bandaid) and also that you could only use it once every 15 months or longer.

Good luck, and keep posting as you need!

Becky,

I know far too well that sinking feeling when you look at the checking account balance expecting to have several hundred dollars left, only to find you're in the hole by several hundred dollars.

Do talk to the utility companies--this time of year it's usually pretty easy to get payment arrangements.
