Update on mom and me

My mom is out of ICU and in a regular room. She is still in the hospital and slowly getting better but the good news is she is getting better. I am hoping she will be well enough to ocme home in about a week.

About me, well even though I have this good news I am still having anxiety bad. I don't know how long this will go on but it has been aroung for over a month now. I am glad my pdoc at least gave me klonopin for the anxiety. I asked him to give me something to help me sleep and he would not do it. He said me getting 3-6 hours sleep a night may be enough for me. I thought what a quack. I did sleep better last night...about 7 and a half hours. My dd isn't helping my anxiety, she keeps messing up my home with her cloths and junk and I can't even get myself to clean normally right now and now she is adding to it and when I tell her to clean up she says she will and then doesn't or she won't clean up enough. Teens why are they so difficult. I wasn't this messy when I was a teen. I just want to go to my bf's and stay for a month but I can't. I go there on weekends and sometimes that helps.

I hope everyone is at a peaceful place and doing well.

Tina:

I am SO happy that your mom is improving. Hopefully once she gets home from the hospital your anxiety will lessen up!

I can understand what you mean about your dd...mine is only 9 and I already have that problem with her. Perhaps one thing you can do is to sit down and have a very calm and quiet discussion with her and explain that with your mom in the hospital you really need her help and ask her what she thinks she could be responsible for doing around the house for you. Then hold her to it.

In a totally different direction, when I was in the "messy teens" my mother taught me quickly to respect her home - anything I left laying around disappeared. She took out a trash bag one night, and filled it up after I was asleep. From that point on, if something was laying out she would ask me one time to put it away, that night it would be gone if it was still out of place. It only took a time or two of this happening for me to learn NOT to leave my stuff all over the house. My room was still a mess, but she didn't have to see that. LOL

Good luck and make certain that you are still taking care of you! :)

Tina,

3-6 hours of sleep?
