He sent another letter to my office. It was a very thick envelope this time. Instead of opening it, I journaled about the reasons I would not read it. I felt firm in my resolve. It felt good. I walked down the hall to the shredder (not my company’s… we sub-lease space). It wouldn’t work! The other company’s receptionist said it was broken. No matter, I’d tear the letter up. Work happened, and the letter sat to the side. It was eating at me, but I was NOT going to open it. Hours ticked by and it was almost time to leave. Instead of coming to this board for support and to be “talked down,” like I should have, I opened it to rip up... my hand was in the trash can, and I pulled it back up.

Hi Amber,
Yes we are the gatekeepers as to the amount of dysfunction we allow into our lives more specifically what we allow in to play on our mind.
Your mind can become a battle field. It is up to you to protect it from the negative influences.
I’m sending you strength and resolve to rip up any further correspondences from xAP.

Whether you think you can or you think you can't you are probably right. A parrot can repeat what it has learned but the mark of true intelligence is applying what is learned.
Amber, I think your new signature is fabulous for this- gave me a laugh - thank you.
Also I like what you said about not 'mind-f*cking' yourself anymore. Gosh thats just about the most apt description of what I do to myself than anything I ever read!
I really hope things work out for you!

Hi Amber,
After reading your reply, I want to give you a big ol cyber (((hug))!
While reading your post so many red flags were thrown up that if it were a football game we’d find ourselves with our backs against the opponent’s goal line.
Abusers can change with help of T and you are seeing a change in how he is handling his anger which is encouraging.
