When an A ends is it fair to say that is wasn't a real relationship anyway?
My T stopped me once when I was discussing AP and said, "Do you realize that you just said 'Our relationship'?"
" ....I didn't belong to him and he didn't belong to me. Isn't that the truth?..."
Just like you didn't belong to your H although he doesn't know it.
benaska2003 , is there a reason why you always sound so angry ?
Yeah, got me on a bad night...now it's on to ignore mode.
Hope you're well :0)

I think Jane said it perfectly: Yes, an A is a "real" relationship, just without all the benefits of a real relationship.

Hi Chilli,
I think, in an A, a secret R, so to speak, you belong to one another only in fleeting moments.. yes, there is belonging, but in a very limited sense.. as it should be.. this is an A afterall..
But, that doesn't take away from the strength, value, and meaning of the bond, as long as both APs are sincere and honest to each other..
Just because it is an A, it doesn't mean the bond is worth any less in terms of its value to you and him..
But, that's so hard to grasp and feel because of all the challenges and limitiations of the A.
In a way, an A is not the best R to be in if feeling to belong is a high priority.. again, just the nature of it..
