I am so glad you have found people you can connect to. I know the fear of seeing people at meetings. The thing that I must remember is "anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our programs ever reminding us to place priniciples before personalities". Everyone else wants you to respect their anonymity and should give you the same courtesy.

As far as the red-face thing, I hear it is true. But one thing I also hear alot is "I'm not here to do his/her inventory". In other words, I wouldn't go right over and ask him about it. I don't know. Some people might.

((hugs)) I'm so proud of you Morgaine!

Hi Morgaine, I agree with Amanda...I'm so glad you took that step! I've heard such good things about AA, and I've also heard that they take the anonymity there seriously. I can relate to your fear of seeing people you know there, though...this isn't quite the same, but throughout college I had to go visit the therapist on campus at least once a week, and occasionally I would see someone I knew when I went in or came out. But you know what, it was OK...everybody has problems, and you should be commended for working to solve yours!

I hope you keep it up...it sounds like you really are headed in the right direction. As for the man at work who seems like he might have a problem, I can just echo what Amanda said...it's possible that he does have a problem with alcohol, but I'd let him be the first to bring it up, just in case. I think a person who isn't ready to deal with an alcohol problem would probably not react well to being asked about it...but hopefully he will come to that point if he needs to.

Hugs, and good luck with it,

Rose
