It seems that dr's are most focused on treating the manic portion of bipolar as opposed to the depressive part? Maybe I'm wrong about that question/statement but it seems to look that way to me.

Hi Danielle,

I am going to add my 2 cents here. My Pdoc focuses more on my mania than depression. Mostly because when I get up real high it is not a pretty sight. I have only been really depressed 3 times this past year. So, he has seen me manic more than he has depressed. I am sure that he would treat the depression if I presented with it.

Every Pdoc is different, and some might treat depression more than others. I think it all depends on what mood the patient is when they see them.

Take care.

Love and hugs,
