I'm Danielle and I'm fairly new to the board too. I was dx bipolar 1 just 3 short weeks ago. I also believe I am a rapid cycler but that dx takes longer to make. My mood swings are horrible, happy, sad, elated, angry & irritable, I have them all and I never know what kind of day it will be for me or my family. I have been married to my HS Sweetheart for 8yrs now and have been with him for 14, I'm going to be 28 next month. I have 2 wonderful children 7yr dd & 5yr ds.

As I said at the beginning of this post I am very new to all of this myself. What's funny is that I've suffered this my whole life but now am just learning how to live a truly healthy life.

Welcome to the board : )

Hugs & Prayers,

Danielle

Hi Missy Flanders:

My Dx is complex....Bipolar II (but in the past I was much worse and may have earned a Bipolar I), with DD NOS (Dissociative Disorder Not Otherwise Specified)....I am not quite a DID...I have personality fragments instead of complete personalities. I have been in Therapy since I was 13. I am a single Mom, with two DDs, and live in Northern Va, near DC. I am a web developer by profession.

My name is Carla I'm 36, live in Charleston, WV, work in State Government. I waited tables for 15 years and had to get a job where I was at a desk due to another medical condition I have called hidradenitis suppurativa (sweat and oil glad disease). NASTY!

I've been bp my entire life, as far back as I can remember but my dx is pretty new, I'd say a little more than 2 years ago. I'm a rapid cycler, which sucks big time. I'm trying to deal, really new to a lot that goes along with the disease. I almost always seek comfort on this board and I get it. I love the people on this board, like family.

I just got out of a 12+ year abusive relationship, no kids. He still bothers me, things are still coming up. GRRRRRR!!!!! MEN!!!!!!

I could go on and on.....but I won't bore you.

Suppose I could share a little more about me, lol.

I am 30 yo. I live in Illinois, with my dh and 3 sons - ages 10, almost 4, and almost 2. I have bipolar II, but only recently dx'ed. I think I have had it from my teens though, when I did some things I should have not done. I am a sahm and attend school part time.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all.

Welcome Missy

I am a (just) 33 year old single mom of a great 9 year old dd in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. I was one of the "lucky ones" who got their dx early - when I was 17. I had already been showing symptoms by the time I was 11 or 12 though. I stopped treatment by the time I was 19 and have the disasters in my life to show for it :) I went back to treatment after a major episode 1 1/2 years ago and was wonderfully stable until earlier this year.

Welcome again!

Hi. I just found this board a couple of days ago. It's been great to read about others who have experiences similar.

I was dxed 3 weeks ago. Well, if you could call it that. It was my second time being an inpatient in a week. I told my pdoc at the hospital that my tdoc at PHP thought I was bipolar. He asked me what I thought. I told him I thought that I could see that. So he changed my dx from depression to bipolar. He hasn't told me anything else about it. I already had to ask him specifically if my dx was bipolar. At the time I didn't know to ask any more, although I doubt he would know. I'm sorry, this has kind of changed into a vent. I'm 24, married for a year with a baby girl 2 months old. I live in the South. I have to have faith I will be "myself" again.
