I have a 4 year old Sheltie who is shy and cautious with strangers.
Having issues with my dog, Australian Shepherd mix, and another dog, Beagle/Pit mix, staying with a family member in our house. Both dogs female and spayed. My dog born deaf and nearly 9 years old. Has strong startle response and fear response from growing up her first year of life in shelters before we adopted her. Does not like other dogs. Hand signal trained. We have had her nearly 8 years and she is the only pet. Visiting dog who will be staying for awhile, and stayed before, is 9. Also obedience trained. Is blind in one eye and almost blind in the other. Also used to being an "only" dog. The dogs will walk as a pack with us, but in the house, they pick fights where neither will back down, so we keep them separate. How do we get them to become a pack so they can share the house?

Good news! Cesar Millan has answered your question. We are currently preparing a gallery of his responses. We would like to include photos of each dog, with their name and age. If you feel comfortable doing so, please upload a photo here that you would like us to use, along with your dog's name and age (I believe you said nearly 9?). The photo should be large enough to fit in our 636 by 447 format and at least 65 DPI.
