I saw the thread about how everybody counted down their list of posstive occurences and happenings and I've just had 3 days of possitive occurences one after another that I'm just going to say them all in order of appearence
1) Got to go to Toronto
I like to say Toronto is my personal Mecca. It's the Canadian arts hub and it's just always an honour to be in the city that's bred my favourite musicians/actors/commedians, has that much ethinicity and that vibe. It was exciting in itself to just get to go to where my heart should be, but alas, I money needs to be saved if I want to consider moving - Toronto is EXTREMELY expesive, especially if you want to live in the very safe downtown core.
2) Got to go into Sam The Record Man on Younge St. in Toronto
Sam The Record Man is a music store chain across Canada, but the flagship store is this huge two story building with huge flashing lights on the outside. It's an insituion in Toronto...and for the Barenaked Ladies' fan (like myself), it's the late night record shop mentioned in the song Brian Wilson. :) That alone was a must for me while I was down there.
3) Tried sushi for the first time
What can I say? I'm open to knew things. :) (Not to mention, it's one of the few world foods I haven't tried and the opporunity arrose to change that.)
4) Got to tour CHUM media center in Toronto
Awesome facility...got to see what goes on at Much Music (Canada's equivilent to MTV), which was great because that's basicially my dream job.
5) Got oppournity to come back and see taping of Much on Demand
MOD is this live show they air on Much everyday and as it just so happens, they were full to capasity but I was the only one on the tour who apparently genunanly wanted to be there, so the security girl pulled some strings. I've only been watching this thing forever. :P
6) March 24, 2005, 2:30pm - 6:30pm: did you know where YOUR Emily was?
Well, Miss Em was crousing the streets of downtown Toronto. :D Talk about a manic state! It was absolutly gorgous, the sun was out, it wasn't snowing (unlike the night before), I found some awesome shops, found a new purse featuring the likeness of Bob and Doug Mackenzie (for any SCTV fans out there), got a Kids in the Hall shirt custom made (sense a pattern?). Then at 4:30, I came back to CHUM for the show and I ended up getting on TV, talking to the host (who was not only really cute, but a darling who was more than happy to answer my questions) and generally had a good time.
7) Got to go to see taping of Royal Canadian Air Farce
Another Canadian instiution for the comedy fans out there. I was basicially full into my element by being in Toronto - by the time we got to the studio for the taping, I was in my glory. The walls leading up to the studio were the CBC comedy walls of fame. So, by the time they introduced Rodger Abbot from the Farce, I was more or less, in my Wayne's World "I'm not worthy!" mode.
I left Toronto this morning feeling extremely rested and prepared to take on the next few weeks of challenges before I head off to Flordia. But restasured, after that trip, the T-Dot hasn't seen the last of me this year. :)

Awesome missemilyjane!
I too just went to TO. It was pretty much a first for me. I took the GO bus there and the subway to my aunt's. She gave me a key so she could lock up when she went to bed. Then we took the subway back downtown and went to see my friend's friend perform at a club. I was a little surprised that "downtown toronto" was so quiet as we walked back at 11:30pm.
The hardest thing about the whole trip was finding our way from Union GO station to Union subway station! I wish I had my compass! I knew which *direction* I was going! lol!
If you wanna go to Toronto sometime that would be so cool. I would love to do all the things you did!
