Is it possible for a med to work well
| Mon, 03-28-2005 - 5:41am |
stablizing my mood for the first two weeks then kind of not work as good. The last few days have been bad for me. Really down. I see the pdoc tommorrow but don't know what to expect. We had talked about changing the antidepressants, which I know I need, so maybe that is all I need but I am just bummed since for a couple days I saw things getting so much better. But now I am back to snapping at dh, at kids etc. and went to bed crying for no real reason last night. Was it all in my head for the first 2 weeks?

Hey Missy!
I feel the EXACT same way you do...maybe you DO just need your antidepressants changed...I really hope that helps...its extremely hard to find the right meds combination to treat ALL aspects of BP.
Hi Missy,
Just to add my thoughts here. Don't get discouraged. I know it is really hard to do when all you want is to feel better and nothing you have tried seems to help. I have been trying for 5 years to find the right combination of meds. Luckily, for me, we have finally done it. It wasn't a one shot thing. There were multiple med changes, med dosage changes, and a full year of being on my current meds to get where I am now.
It is possible to find the right combo that works. It just takes time and patience. Hang in there. We are here if you need us.
Hugs,
I take wellbutrin sr, it's really good! It's for ADHD and Bipolar, or depression, can't remember which one, but it works wonders... Whenever I take it, (i'm bad at taking pills) I have so much energy and I'm happy, only downfall, taking it 2 times a day for the rest of your freakin life!!!!! AAAAAHHH. But yeah, if you havn't tried it yet, I suggest doing so. K?

Wellbutrin is an antidepressand. It is also used for smoking cessation.
It may feel good now, but personally it threw me into a horrible psychotic mania, mixed states and ultradian cycling. I still take it, but with a mood stabilizer too. I am still cycling but the mania is hypo and not mixed.
