Just a few quick thoughts on the diet and your pdoc's advice. First, I think your pdoc is waaaay out there. You are right to question her(?) advice. My mom's a holistic nutritionist, so I get spoon-fed this stuff everyday. The diet you're on is a basic, healthy diet. The change in your hormones caused by your body getting readjusted to the nutrients is probably what's throwing you off. Keep with it. Know that it's just going to take a little time and the meds will work properly again. Your body has to get rid of all the toxins you had been taking in, so it's flushing a lot out of you, which throws you off, too. Think of this new food almost as a new med. Let it all get regulated before you decide to go off it entirely. This sounds like a great diet that you can maintain forever. Don't give up on it yet. Let it take effect and help your body get readjusted. The water intake is important, especially with all the meds we're all on! (What meds are you on? Sometimes that can make a difference.) I've never heard of a med being diluted through too much water intake. Maybe it is possible. (Any med students weigh-in on this one?) But chances are, that's not what's actually happening. Keep drinking your water and sticking to your diet. It'll even out soon. Most diets only take a week or two to get your body realigned with where it should be in the first place. The first week or so is just the worst, but don't let it deter you. One other quick point: Let your pdoc know what herbals/vitamins you're taking. VERY important!
