As a former state employee from TN, I can tell you that there are two types of state workers. The first is the type that works their rear end off, gets everything done, and is actually competent in their job. The second type has no clue what they're doing, they try to stir up trouble, and somehow manage to get all the promotions as they can brownnose their way to the top.

It's aggravating - BTDT. I know it's very hard to not let it get to you, but just go in with the knowledge that you "are" more intelligent than they are and they are just jealous of you.

I hope your meds help.

Have a good day.

Morgaine! *hugs*

Where have you been?! Missed you! Sorry to hear about all the stress at work. I'm going to shut up next time I want to freak out about going to my mindless job. I don't even have a half-decent part time job.

I don't have any business advice for you, frankly I don't think you need it. I know you are very competent and hardworking.

Have faith in your abilities and that things will work out. I'm sure they will. If you should be asking anyone it is your boss. But I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

Love,
Amanda

Morgaine,

I guess you are right. I do feel pretty low in my job and do only have the choice to deal with it or quit (and every time I get upset that is my solution, quit). Why should i have to put up with the attitude I'm getting from my coworker? Why should i have to deal with getting only $0.05 more than everyone else, even though I've been there 2 1/2 years but minimum wage went up and I didn't get the equivalent increase? Why should I not get stat pay, holiday pay, time and a half etc? And especially, I have a B.A., "Was that mustard or mayo?" :( Still I feel pretty incompetent and totally insecure about my ability to have even a better part time job, let alone a career. I guess I also had the idea that my career is going to be even more stressful and more work and I'm going to hate it. But why should I be in a job if I hate it?

I may once again be out on my own and I don't even make enough for school now, let alone rent and utilities, so I'm going to have to get a better job, a second job or both. Sigh.

Hmmm.... why did I have to live? If there is a reason, I don't know it.

Morgaine,

Glad things have started to improve and glad YOUR boss knows what's going on even though it's hard as you know what to put up with!
