HELP!!Need advice/input

Hi everyone, I'm still fairly new to this board, but I want to share what happened on my most recent visit to my pdoc. I saw her yesterday, and she said I'm severely depressed again, and am having rapid cycling, and anxiety. She increased my abilify to 10mg, upped my lamictal to 250mg, and added clonazepam for the anxiety. She also admitted me to an outpatient program called WINGS (Working Interdependently for New Growth and Stabilization). I start tomorrow. It's Mondays-Fridays from 9am till 3pm. Has anyone ever been in an outpatient program before? I'm nervous but hopefull too that they can help me feel better. I'm trying to think positive, and I keep praying, but I'd like some of your advice/input. Thanks.

i just finished an outpatient program.
I did an out patient program about 2 months ago. I had just come out of three days of inpatient. It was weird at first but I got used to sharing in a group. It really helped to not feel alone. The way my group was run we could jump in and talk whenever we wanted, although most of the time that didn't happen. I relearned coping techniques, also. I think I've learned more in group theapy than in individual threapy so far. I was actually happy and sad to be done with the experience.

hi kelly,
while i have never been in an outpatient program, i have heard wonderful things about them. so many here on the board have been through them, and had there been one in my area, i would have about 5 or 6 months ago when i was at my worst. i'm sure you will do great and make some new friends along the way. as others have told you, it is hard at the beginning and there is some intensive work that needs to be done, but from what i understand, the results are more than worth it.
i wish you all the best. keep us posted.
