A friend and I went to get a 2 hour massage yesterday. Today I am in so much pain I can't walk. My fingernails even hurt - lol. I have had a massage before, but I feel like I've been in one of those machines like the Addams' family has - LOL. I had to tell the massage therapist to lighten up about 4 times and it was still too rough.
Has anyone else ever had this problem?
I know this is totally off topic - sorry.

Cheri,
I've never had a massage but on the 4th of June I have an appointment at a local massage therapy school. Their students give massage for credit and it only costs $25. They said that it would only take around an hour, closer to 45 minutes. Maybe you just went too long? I know when I HAD a fella (not x he never would) he massaged my shoulders and neck and the next day I felt like someone beat me up from my shoulders up. But I do carry every spec of tension in my upper body, more my arms, neck and shoulders. Maybe you were just too tense. I'm grabbing straws here because I hope one is right. LOL
Take a nice warm bath, 20 minute soak. I have to do this with my legs often. I use Epsom Salt but just plain water will help. If you don't have anything to do I would keep draining the cold and putting hot/warm water in. But I'm not sure if it would do much good for more than 20.
I just want to send you so many gentle cyber hugs!!!!!!!!!
((((((((((((((((CHERI))))))))))))))))))))
Also....I'm in a fightin' mood, want me to come up and rough up that therapist for you? LOL....I would ya know. =o)
Cheri:
If your muscles are sore from being massaged you should probably ice them. Soaking in a hot tub may cause them to go into spasm which would be significantly worse. After a day or two of ice packs, THEN you can start heat therapy.
Most likely the therapist worked your muscles out to the extent that they need to rebuild a bit - same as if you had gone through a strenuous physical exercise. You should be better in a day or two!
Don't worry about posting off subject!
Take care,
Tracey
OMG....I am so sorry. If you had listened to me you would have been in more pain than you are to begin with. Tracey...thanks for catching my fubar. Cheri, I am so sorry!
I have a disease that causes lesions (hidradenitis suppurativa) and to pull the nasty infection out I have to soak for 20/minutes several x day when they act up. I just didn't think......Tracey...again thank you.
Okay...Carla's upset for giving super stupid advice.....but I should know better.
LOVE & HUGS To you all/
