Deep breaths. You are SO doing the right thing, and you know it. I would VERY CALMLY explain to Mike that if he acts like that to you again, he loses privilges AND you are going to take him to see a pdoc for a formal dx and rx. No more games. I think he is going to be your biggest struggle with staying stable - he got away with SO much when you weren't and now you have to re-train him.
I would call the kid's mom and just explain that you had the unexpected expense of car repairs and it is going to delay the trip. She WILL understand. That will be a lot better anyway then Mike calling the kid up and whining about you.
Kid's usually don't understand the concept of money at all. Savannah does similar stuff - wants to buy and go out and do things that are outside the budget and thinks we can magically conjure money.
Hang in there, don't think about it, and beat his butt when you get home LOL!! Just kidding, but I would talk with him and explain that his behavior is unacceptable and if he can't control it YOU WILL.
You're right...I called Eric back, and told him that Mike had called with an attitude, not a TERRIBLE one, but Eric said it didn't matter...that hanging up on me is unacceptable and he's in trouble.
You SHOULD be proud of yourself! I keep TELLING YOU how proud I am of you! That was exactly right letting Eric know so he could get after him. As for feeling bad because he has been looking forward to the beach - SO HAVE YOU! You have accepted that it fell through and are dealing with it - he needs to learn also, as you said.
I'm glad your mom is doing better - when did she come home from the hospital?
I'll try to call tonight, or you can call me (I'll be home around 6:30/7 your time) - I left the calling card info on your cell phone. It is a $10 card - I bought it specifically so we could talk - use it up!!! I have 2 more where that came from LOL!!
