Oh PAHLEESE! Don't you know by now that it isn't rude to vent when you are having issues before you ask how I am?? :)
That's news to me about Li too. Am going to see what happens this next week when I get mine filled.
I'm actually ok. The office hag is gone until Tuesday, so at least it is pleasant here :)
Hang in there! NO H-WORD!!!
ARGH!
Pdoc's nurse just called back...apparently the generic Lithium wasn't up to FDA standards, and they were forced to shut down.
I only have 3 things to say about not getting your meds -
1. Call pdoc and see if they have a couple days worth of samples they can let you have. (or the pharmacy).
2. Get Eric off his butt and out working again.
3. This is a time not to feel bad about asking your dad to give you some $$. You have been doing a LOT for them, they are always happy to help if they can.
Hang in there, you'll be ok!
Ok - called my pharmacist. He hasn't heard a WORD about the generic Li changing (or any other form) and has plenty in stock. Weird.
Maybe call another pharmacy and see if they have inventory. I am going to dig into this more.
Hanging in there?

Ok - I did some web searching and the ONLY thing I can find is that last year there was a recall of Carbolith by a Canadian Manufacturer - and Carbolith is technically NOT approved for distribution in the US at this time.
(from http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/SAFETY/2004/safety04.htm#Carbolith)
Carbolith (lithium carbonate)
Audience: Neuropsychiatric healthcare professionals and consumers
The FDA advised consumers about a Canadian recall of Carbolith (lithium carbonate) 150 mg capsules distributed in Canada by Valeant Canada Limited. Although Carbolith is not an FDA-approved product, FDA is investigating several Internet websites advertising Carbolith for sale to U.S. consumers. Carbolith 150 mg capsules are used in the treatment of manic-depressive illness. The company's recent testing led to the conclusion that the product may not deliver adequate amounts of the drug to ensure effective treatment. U.S. consumers who have taken it for the treatment of manic-depressive illness could experience adverse events associated with lowered blood lithium levels.
I can't find any FDA info about US Generic lithium being affected. I would call another pharmacy and see if they have it.
