TRIGGERS!?!
Some how I missed it, but apparently a short time ago, Tom launched a major verbal barrage of criticism against Brooke Shields and her coming out with her story of post-partum depression and how AD's saved her sanity and life.
This morning the Today show featured an interview with him & in one segment he launched into a virtual diatribe about psychiatry in general, that there is no such think as a chemical imbalance

Yes Morgaine, I have my B.A. in Religious Studies.
Definately there is a link between Christian and Pagan beliefs, especially at the roots of both (therefore not such a difficult concept for me to be a christian pagan I think)
As for a sweeping overview of religious history (I'm sorry, I had to laugh!) Good luck with that. LoL
If you didn't notice my other post...my courses were very specific. Death and dying is 2 different courses...comparative and western, for example.
There is relig st 1b06 world religions and that type of thing, still not a broad overview. It is impossible to be so general without reductionism. At the very least, it would be a long processes to go through religious history.
If you have something specific you would like to know, let me know.
I wish I had known before, I could have sent you my old custom coursewares. I still have them, but they are in the recycling, so the plastic binding is off them!
I have them for courses like:
Health, healing and religion
Images of the Divine Feminine (goddess religions)
Women and religion
Religion and ecology
I can still send them if you want. If you aren't uncomfortable giving me your mailing address. Email me through my profile.
I also have text books which are currently up on amazon.ca I couldn't tell you off the top of my head what they are.
If you have a specific area you would like to know about, let me know.
I do find it funny that you say your degree is not related to religion...it's related to MY religion ;)
Love,
Amanda
littlemascara,
I'm sure his "expertise" in the history of psychiatry comes from scientology. That is the first thing addressed in my book.

((((Traci))))
I'm honoured! I would love to help you, from a personal and scholarly perspective.
Email me through my profile. I will email you back and you can then attatch it. I don't want to publish my email here (aparantly things like bots can search for that info on web pages!)
Amanda
Amanda and Marci, the respective e-mails have been sent out. Thanks to both of you for your help:) I don't know if it's a personality quirk or bp related but I've got a perfectionist streak in me and I like my papers to be as close to perfect as I can get them;) LOL!
Thanks again!
Hugs,
Traci
The VIEW ladies (with the exception of Elisabeth who normally has her head up her own a**), blasted Tom Cruise today. Joy Behr said while he may be an "expert", the American Society of Psychiatrists knew much more than he did and had done much more research.
I still am laughing over the "hawk-nosed" comment - cracks me up everytime I think about it.
ROFL.
Thanks!
well goddesses mirror is a good overview on goddesses. I have one for sale on amazon.ca If you'd be willing to buy it, I'd love to just give it to you, but it i'm not making any money on it I might as well keep it. I want to keep it, but I need to buy new text books and clear up some space too. I hope this is not seen as solicitation. It's not meant to be. http://www.amazon.ca/exec/obidos/tg/detail/offer-listing/-/0887068367/used/1/701-7828918-7557118 (I'm careyaj!)
Also as I said before, i have the custom coursewares (collections of articles, basically the prof making up their own text book so we don't have to buy 4 or 5 books). If you want me to mail them to you I will.
