High Anxiety, no relief

So I switched from Lexapro to Wellbutrin, which is going OK, but the anxiety is through the ceiling the last few days. I missed work on Monday because I was too anxious all night that I couldn't sleep. I finally decided that the exercise and breathing wasn't working for me, and called my drs office this morning for some anti anxiety meds. No one called me back all day. I got home at about 4:30 and tried again. The office was closed. I debated, then called the emergency line and left a message. The dr on call was NOT my regular dr that knows what is going on, but someone else. This dr never called back, either. I finally called the answering service back again at about 8:30. This time the dr on call called back and was, basically, annoyed and pointed out that it was am emergency line. I explained that it was an emergency to ME because my anxiety was out of control. She said I had to be seen in the office and there was nothing she could do for me. So, now I am anxious AND frustrated. She suggested urgent care, but I can't go now because it is so late. If she had called back at a reasonable time, I may have been able to go to urgent care...now, it is ER or another night of worrying about stuff that is not going to happen anyway...

I am so sorry you are feeling like that and ALSO not getting treated the way youo need. I totally understand the anxiety, boy has it been kicking my butt lately. I went off Wellbutrin last year because my pdoc said there is an activating componant that may cause mania and aniety in some people. I hope you can talk to your reg doc today and get some relief! And be sure to tell your DR how you were treated, because that wasn't right. You even called at a reasonable hour! I usually call my pdoc at 4:30am! ;)
