for those of you on it, do any of you take it at NIGHT? I have a sneaking suspicion my pdoc wants to increase it which makes me SoOOOOOOOOO sleepy during the day. I was just wondering if I took it at night if I'd sleep and feel alert during the day. Obviously I am going to talk to pdoc about it.

Hi,

I take mine at night. In the beginning, it didn't make much of a difference, because it made me sleepy 24/7, but after awhile I started perking up during the day and I don't notice it so much anymore (it took several months for the daytime sleepiness to go away) I also take Lamictal (at night) and have been sleeping better than I have in years, except once in a while I have very vivid strange dreams... of course, that's probably normal I guess, most people have odd dreams now and then...

Now I wonder if this is why I am so tired lately. I was told to take the abilify in the morning, as it is activating. It is so NOT activating for me. LOL. I may have to find out if taking it at night might help. Thanks for a great question and informative responses.

Missy, when I started it, doc said it has the paradoxical effect in some people of being activating and sedating at the same time, or one or the other, It seems to make me sedated at higher doses. Anyway, saw him today and since I am clearly having sleeping issues causing anxiety, depression, etc he said I could go up 5mg and take it at night. So I'll let you know how that goes!
