Roll Call
19
Wed, 06-29-2005 - 9:27am

Since we've had a lot of new folks join us recently how about listing the following:

Age

City, State where you live

when you were dx'd BP

a little bit about yourself &/or family

(for those of you who aren't ready to give us your name, can you tell us a nickname you'd like to go by--sometimes going just by screen names is too impersonal, but if that's what you want to do, that's okay too)

Hugs,

Marci

(((((Beth))))

We all feel that way sometimes--heck I'm a CL and sometimes I've thought about getting an "assumed" ID (my non CL ID is kcisis, original HUH!), just so I could anonymously post stuff I didn't want to own up to.

(((((Jenne))))),

I'm so sorry that something as wonder as expecting a baby, means no meds.

Morgaine here.

32 (almost 33) living in a small town in central Missouri (near the capital of Jefferson City, where I work).

I'm not sure when I was dx'd but I've been in and out of therapy and on and off meds my whole life.

I always forget to post on the roll calls lately LOL!!

I'm Tracey from MN. I'm 33 with a fantastic (most of the time) 9 year old dd. She is just mine as her dad doesn't have a relationship with her (although we do stay in touch a bit). I work full time in the sales and marketing department of an industrial manufacturing firm, recently I have been given the additional responsibility of overseeing all advertising....good thing I have a degree in computer science LOL!

I was dx'd back when I was 17 (eons ago!!) and put on lithium which made a WORLD of difference almost overnight. Then, as we are prone to do, I went off meds about a year later and didn't go back on them until Fall of 2003 when I had my life in such shambles that I was about to lose everything I had and then some. It was quite awful but fortunately my parents were in a position to help me. I found a great pdoc who put me back on lithium and it has been pretty good sailing since! I do also take topamax for both a little extra stability and also to prevent my migraines.

me: late 40's MALE
wife: 40's

ds: 22yo just dx'd BPD, is on meds and counseling. To his credit he is trying hard to deal with it. He wants to 'break out' as any adult would. We want to help him as much as possible.

location: Eastern US

We just joined this board a week ago. What I have read has already helped.
Thanks to those who have responded to my posts and also thanks to those who have previously posted their stories, solutions and problems.

Very active board; you should be commended for your hard work in helping others!

My name is Missy. I am 30 years old. I was just d'xd this February. I currently am taking abilify and effexor. I have 3 sons, ages 10, 4 and 2 that I take care of as my job. I will be starting (hopefully) nursing school in January.
