Do you have plans for the holiday?

Don't know about you all, but holidays (even relatively minor ones) really seem to get to me these days.

Marci:
Your daytime plans of kicking back and relaxing are ALWAYS nice!
I am actually leaving tomorrow night to go on a camping/fishing trip with a couple I have been friends with for many years, plus some other people (some I know, some I don't). We will be going 2-3 hours north of the metro area to a lake that isn't very busy (usually they only see 1-2 boats a trip) and we will boat across to an island where we will camp out until Monday night.
I am breaking ALL of my normal rules, and will be going off my meds for the weekend (NOT something I advocate to anyone or myself) because I KNOW that I will be drinking and out in the sun and I don't want to risk it (especially with Lithium). These are my wild (REALLY WILD) friends that are in MANY alternative lifestyles, so any time I spend with them is bound to be fun and interesting, I can't imagine what 3 whole days will be like! I always think of them like a really GOOD and fun manic episode personafide (sp?). Obviously, we will not be bringing any children on this trip, unless one couple comes and brings their two teenage boys (16 & 17), then we will bring my friends' teenage son (17) - but they will camp out on a separate island from us. We'll fish together during the day but at night we each get to have our own fun
Obviously, I am excited! LOL!
I hope what everyone else has planned is fun and wonderful and they have a great weekend, even if it is nothing more then sitting in your living room watching a good movie or reading a book.

Tracey,
It sounds like major fun--I haven't been camping or fishing in ages and I miss it (though I probably couldn't sleep in a sleeping bag now to save my soul).
My one concern is stopping your meds, obviously not the best choice anytime, but understandable (this from someone who's been off them for several months now
Carla,
The plans don't have to be fancy--a combination of a little work and a little relaxation is fine.
Marci:
I believe the half-life is less then 24 hours, and I actually stopped yesterday to make sure. Yes, I had a lot of concerns about stopping them too, but figured it would be safer to stop them and have a weekend of safe fun after which I will resume my meds then to risk a potentially dangerous situation. Yes, I could camp out and NOT drink, but I just really would like it - it's been a long while! LOL
As for sleeping on the ground, these guys don't bother with that - they bring camp beds (fancy cots, but you are up off the ground) and a generator so we'll have power for everything. They have the camp shower, stove, and pretty much everything else you could want :)
