Can I ask a personal question?......

I have had an increased libido lately, which for some odd reason my husband is lacking right now. We have been getting along better than we have for a long time and are affectionate during the day etc. I normally have very little sex drive, could this be the meds or am I climbing a hill towards a hypomanic episode? I am obsessing that dh is not as interested, please tell me I should not be concerned?

Could it be you had a lowered libido while depressed and now that your med(s) are working, you feel better and therefore your libido has gone up? Do you usually get hypersexual when manic? I don't think it necessarily means a race towards a manic episode unless you sense other symtoms as well. I would guess it's what I mentioned first, you just feel better....has abilify caused weight loss(increase in confidence/body image)? That could be part of it too.

Missy,

Little Mascara is onto something with the fact that it may just be your meds working.

My experience with the increased libido, however, is a big indicator of an ensuing swing.

So, while I can't say it means one or the other, it's definitely something to watch. I would say to try not to read to much into your dh's decreased drive right now. If it persists or if your drive increases more, than maybe it's something for you (or him) to discuss with a doc.

If this has not been ongoing, see what happens over the next couple of days, dh may just be tired, your meds may be kicking in, or medical reasons may be at play. I know I'm not much help, but that's just my experience.

I've had increased libido lately and I"m not sure what the cause is either. My meds are working wonderfully so I hope this isn't about a swing that's about to come because then it means the meds aren't working. Personally I think it is because the meds are working. I'm feeling a lot more stable, a lot better and so my self confidence is creeping back : ) I hope that is also the case for you
