Update on dd

I just got back from the hospital and seeing a social worker with my dd. She is learning some coping skills while she is in there and realizes that suicide is not the answer. The doctor put her on Lexapro 5mg for now. She won't be able to come home until around Tuesday because they need to set her up with an appointment with a tdoc for follow up care and a pdoc. I gave them the number where I go and I am hoping she will be able to get her set up there.
So far her xbf has not tried to reach her on her cell phone or at the house number. I am getting her messages for her right now so I am able to hear who is calling her. Alot of her friends have been worried about her and calling to check on her. That has made her feel good. She has been able to talk to a few of her friends while in the hospital.
My dd has never been good at keeping up on taking the anti-depressants given to her before but I am hoping this time she will continue to do so. I am going to do everything I can to help her on the right road and to keep her in therapy. She hasn't been good at sticking to therapy either. I am going to really be on her to keep up with her treatment but I was told by the hospital there is only so much I can do because she is almost 16. I can't force her like I could if she was 8 or something.
Thank You all for your support. I needed it.
Peace and love
Tina~

Glad that things are taking a bit of an upturn. I wish you and her increasing happiness, health and safety.

Tina,
Glad to hear things are better, let's hope this time she is old enough to understand the need for keeping on her meds and going to therapy.
(((((((Tina)))))))) Thank you for the update. I'm glad to hear that your dd is doing better. As for doing your best to get her to keep on her meds and up w/ her therapy, your best is all anyone, including your dd, can hope for. She knows you love her and want what's best for her and that is the sign of a fantastic mom:) One day at a time my friend. And, if need be, one hour or minute even. You will do great and we are here for you.
(((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))) to you both.
