I've just recently had the honor of being diagnosed as bipolar type 3, or Soft bipolar, or spectrum bipolar. Doctor says i likely have never experienced a authentic mood in my entire life. WOH!
I've started Lamictal about 3 days ago. Only 25mg will be up to 200mg in 7 weeks.
So... a question for everyone who is medicated... how does it help? Clearly you don't have the ups and downs anymore right.. but what about the thoughts in yoru head? Are they different. I am plagued with the constant belief that everyone is putting me down when they aren't... especially when I go hypomanic.. it's usually a dysphoric hypomania where I am irritable.. BIG TIME. And when I go there... nothing anyone can say is ok by me. For most people I can keep it to myself.. but for my family ... forget it.. I am all over them for nothing.. all the time.
So your experience on how the meds helped you from a PERSONAL perspective, would be great. All the web pages say are 'membrane stabilization' or whatever and I've no clue what that looks like or feels like.
thanks
