Tandy,

I appreciated your post because Lamictal is not the only medication I am taking (Um, of course not). My full cocktail is Lamictal, Zoloft and Seroquel. Apparently the Lamictal isn't the culprit for my weight difficulties. I don't take a large dose of Seroquel, but maybe it's enough to make it that much harder to keep the pounds down.

Beth,

Even 25 mgs of Seroquel will keep your weight up. I hated it. Just came off it...well, actually, I have 25 mg tabs I can take "as I need them" RIGHT. I save them only for the worst possible times ONLY. They make you PIG OUT and eat like crazy and they bloat you, and its almost impossible to lose on them.

Sorry. :(

Love and Hugs,

Keli

Keli,

I too use 25 mgs of Seroquel to use as needed. Actually, last time I saw pdoc it was supposed to be every day but I have too hard of a time getting up the morning after to do that. Also, I don't like how lethargic and drugged I feel the next day. Mostly I use it when I can't sleep through the night.

Do you ever have problems with getting to sleep? What do you do about it?

Thanks for responding Keli.

Oh no :( My pdoc just gave me 25mg Seroquel "as needed" and I am trying to do weight watchers...she didnt mention weight gain with them...so this is news to me...EEEEK. I am also taking lithium and lamictal and wellbutrin and I have been able to lose weight just fine with those, I have the same problem with feeling groggy and lethargic the next day after taking the Seroquel so I only take half but it doesnt seem to work at just half a pill....too bad I cant take 3/4 a pill huh? that might work perfect. Anyways, just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

Rebekah - If you can lose weight without a prob on Lithium, then you should be fine.

Beth, I have a HUGE problem falling asleep at night. I usually take an Ativan and that helps some, and I read and watch tv til I fall asleep. I'm up and down too, once I do fall asleep. But I hate hate hate Seroquel. Like you, even 25 mgs makes me a zombie in the morning and I have to be at work at 7:30. Just doesn't really work. SOMETIMES, on a VERY special occasion (lol) I will allow myself HALF a 25 mg pill on the weekends...sometimes...i just hate the grogginess. Now, when I was inpatient, EACH time, i asked for 100 mgs, because what else is there to do??? :)

Love to you both,

Keli
