Question about triggers

This might sound so stupid...but I know something is triggering me...and I can't figure it out..is it possible to have triggers happening, but you just don't know what they are?

I know I've been eating a lot faster lately...to the point where people are commenting on it.

Triggers are SO complicated. And unfortunately, they usually take a good bit of inner work to figure out. What may trigger you, won't trigger me, and vice versa...you get the drill. It took me a long time to figure out what my triggers were. And they will trigger you and trigger you and they don't care that you don't know what they are, little devils. They can really work a number on you too. They can seem very simple, or be VERY big.

Sorry I'm not much help. But its just a very delicate, personal thing. You have to figure them out on your own. I think you are well on your way though...DH and weight. And your kids. Just what I pick up on through your posts. That's why when we talk about ANYTHIng that just MIGHT trigger anyone, we put a trig warning. But that is a guess. I got really triggered when Becky talked about disability yesterday and used the word crazy. But it was only because I FEEL CRAZY for real. Truly crazy and not jokingly crazy. This afternoon I can probalby joke about it. Who knows. I know she didn't mean it though. Its just how triggers work.

Love and Hugs,

Donna,

For me, eating more than usual and faster than usual is usually one of the first signs of impending mania; however, if I'm just craving chocolate and munchy carb stuff (more than usual anyway-LOL!) it's usually a precursor of a depressed episode.

Ask DH and maybe even DD to be on the lookout for a correlation--in the beginning DD was much quicker to spot stuff like that than I was.

Donna,

I can only figure it out that quickly (sometimes) because I've been to a lot of therapy and I've been practicing for many years.
