Hi all. I've been on here for about 2 weeks posting about the fact that my life is a huge freakin' mess and my mania has kicked into very high gear. Yesterday I posted that life wasn't moving fast enough. I'm not sleeping well at night - mind you, I have a totally physically handicapped DS8 and I have to get up with him several times throughout the night to reposition him and address breathing issues. After he wakes me up, its sometimes hours before I can return to sleep, if I do at all, and then he just wakes me up again. I very recently became a single mother and its sucking the life out of me.
So my pdoc prescribed risperdal, trileptal and paxil (I've been taking paxil for years). When I'm awake I'm very jittery like I've had too much coffee. My head is still cycling like crazy and although my "crazy ideas and plans" have decreased in intensity alittle bit, they're definitely still there. Are these jitters a side-effect of risperdal????? Is the sleeplessness also a side-effect?????
I want to shoot myself to get out of this agony. Love, Mo.

LOL, we posted at the same time...
YES, that jitteriness IS a side affect of Risperdal and you need to call your pdoc. Its part of why I stopped taking it.
Plus, its not doing anything for your thoughts or sleep. You need something else!
Love and Hugs,

he wants me to go see the over the top can't possibly afford him shrink but meanwhile added trileptal to my prozac & seroguel.
i noticed you mentioned trileptal.is that succesfully used for bipolar?

i've been on trileptal, seroquel, wellbutrin, trazodone for several months. was doing very well until a major setback a week ago. not sure what caused the setback but the trileptal was working well, as was the seroquel. however, the doc increased the seroquel to try to stop the negative thoughts and si ideation. so far no luck, but give the trileptal a chance. it does help.
