Depressed on Lamictal?

My doctor has lowered my Wellbutrin dosage and upped my Lamictal and I have been having these really low, dark periods. I don't swing back into happiness or mania or anything just a simply "blah" period. So I'm either really down or just kinda there. Anyone felt this way? My doc tells me that being just kinda there is normal life and that's how people really are. Huh? Then I want my "mania" back! It was never really high, I just actually felt happy and motivated. Sigh

From what I understand Lamictal also has the effects of an a/d.

I can tell you I have felt the same way as you....I don't feel very empathetic on this stuff.

Hi,

I am having problems with Lamictal too... My Pdoc took me off Abilfy and I am slowly upping Lamictal (with very mixed results) I haven't had much relief from depression with the Lamictal and now without the Abilify I am jittery and sleepless with circular thoughts again... I am losing faith in these medications... they just don't seem to help much... Sometimes, I think the money for these meds just isn't worth it... they are so expensive and I don't feel any better...

Sorry to be so negative, just how I feel right now...

Lamictal didn't do a thing for me, kept having major mood swings while on it along with major headaches,

Hey you guys; thank you for all of your answers. It really makes a world of difference just knowing I'm not the only one going through this stuff (not that I'd wish it on anyone!) Yeah, I don't feel empathetic but then I had tears streaming down my face last night watching an injured Marine meet the doctor that saved his life. Aye, yi, yi. Katherine, I have been feeling the same way--maybe this stuff isn't worth all the hassle & expense. I'm gonna give it a while longer and see how it goes. Thank you!

Hi,

I know what you mean! What is "normal"? If feeling just "blah" is normal then I too want my manic phase back! Anyway, who knows with the meds... I was on Welbutrin with my Zoloft for a while but I didn't notice any help from the Welbutrin. I guess its like Roulette... just pick one and give it a spin...
