Hey I'm new and need to vent, hope ya'll don't mind. I am just really irritated and don't know how to not be. My shrink is a total b**ch, I'm looking for another one but in the meantime my meds aren't working. I'm on 200mg of Lamictal right now. She put me on Geodon bc I have been manic and it knocked me out so after spending $75 on it I don't wanna take it. I have a 14 mo old baby that I stay at home with, my terminally ill mother lives w/ me and my husband and I don't get along most of the time. I'm also in a TON of debt. I'm going to look for a job trw b/c I can't stay at home w/ my baby anymore, it'driving me insane and besides I need MONEY. Life just sucks and I wish I could just run away. Does anyone feel the same as me??

Marci is absolutely right on this one. I took Geodon for a very brief period because it made me sick as a dog. However, my 15 yo dd has been on it for a few months and it has helped her immensely. The pdoc started her on 40 mgs but had to cut her back to 20 because it was too sedating at 40.

The thing about speaking up to your pdoc is crucial. If you haven't, do so. They can't help you effectively if they think something is working when in actuality it's not. That said, if you have said something and the doc is not listening, then it is time to seek out a new doctor.

You sound like you definitely have your hands full at home and understandably want to get out and make some extra money. That is a good idea. If you are able to work then a job may be just what you need right now. That may help in a variety of ways. It may help with your relationship to your dh, your baby and possibly even your mother.

Talk to your pdoc and let us know how you are doing. Welcome aboard:) Remember we are all aware of what you are going through to some degree. So vent away.

Kat, here is one place you never have to feel alone. We all know the frustration, the ups the downs and the whole nine yards. Keep us posted on how you are doing. There's usually at least one of us here at any given hour and we'll definitely listen and help in any way we can:)

Hugs,
