the freezers on top of the fridge (not deep-freeze)? How do I know if it's still good? I have one with an expiration date of November and I'm wondering if it's still good! Thanks!!!

Was it wrapped well? It should be fine, but if it was not wrapped air tight, you might have a little freezer burn which doesn't make it spoiled, just a little dry. Also, if it was not wrapped tight it might pick up odors.

I would use it... I think they are always ok as long as they don't smell, after you thaw it out.. AND you will know it...they sometimes are slimy.. Cut it up or cook as you like... wren

Six months from the time of freezing, provided your freezer works better than mine does. If in doubt, stew it. But I would not use it for baked or fried chicken if you have a doubt about the quality. Don't throw it out, though, just stew it and make dumplings or soup or chicken and rice or a pot pie. you'll be fine.
