Good luck with all that Marci, I know how hard memory problems can be, I had brain surgery and it completely screwed up my memory.
The reason I wanted to do the poll was that I read an interesting statistic about people with BP and employment, and I wanted to see how true it was here. It said that 51% of people with bp dont work at all and 21% work full time and 24% work part time, and the other 4% werent specified.
I put "volunteer", because I give free music lessons to a kid. I can't work for money because of my immigration status in Canada. Hopefully that will change within the foreseeable future.
me, work very part time - at a few different things. My 9 ds and I do a newspaper route (nerdy, I know, but 100 a month). I work on ebay - my pace no biggie. I also do crafts and photography - dont sell much but hope too. All of these except newspaper allow for my good and bad days. Even the newspaper allow for it as my 9 yo can do it or my dh. It also help cause my 6 yo ds has a mood disorder possible bp - so we have to be on his good day bad day schedule :) On top of that I have 4 boys - no full time paying job, but work 24/7
I did have an almost full-time job, I was working approx. 34-40 hours a week, but I resigned after 4 months because my moods were getting so low I couldn't handle leaving my house -- never mind being around people. I really want to get a job, but I keep putting it off because of my mood swings I know I will not be able to hold down a job, so it'll cause me to fail and put me down even further. But I really need to because I have to move out of my parents house. They're not asking me to leave, but I need to for me due to the fact that being at home is causing high amounts of stress and making it extremely hard to deal with the addional issues that come with being Bipolar.
I'm hoping to change my none of the above vote real soon.
