Hmmm... I'm so low key as the holidays go but decided I need to be bothered to do more.

Cash for a european trip. I'd think a european trip would BE the present! How exciting for her.

Being aware of what I'm eating works until I have a glass of wine. Then it's an ugly free for all.:-)

Nah, dd's grandmother is giving the trip to her as a gift. She told all of the grandchildren, years ago, that if they learned a foreign language where they could accompany her to the country, she would pay their way. My mother no longer desires to travel, but she is selectively following through - the trip is sponsored through the school, and each child needs funds for food and spending money.

I had a frozen margarita Saturday night...and then I had two shrimp, a spinach/feta appetizer in phylo dough, veggies (pepper and celery), hummus with pita, three meatballs, and two chocolate coverred creme puffs.

I make a lot of cookies and bring them, I'm selective about what I take and only take a few. That way, we get a selection of good cookies but not too much. If I baked that many different types, we'd be eating forever so it's a good compromise.
