I stayed home sick yesterday...I have the beginning of a sinus infection, blah! The stupid weather here is so I don't even know...its cool in the mornings, upper 50s and low 90s by mid afternoon. Everyone is sick! I'm STILL pmsing, my god, and I'm a bit down, but nothing major...Risperdal, one of my meds, causes havoc with your periods...so I have spotted ONCE, and that's it, but I'm still PMSing and I don't know what's up.
Anyway, no, didn't get my hair done, couldn't afford it, as usual...I'm so sick of being BROKE i don't know what to do...
I've gained weight again too...but I did some soul searching yesterday and made some confessions to myself about some things I've been doing, and I'm trying to get back on track today...Its not easy, though. Trying to forgive myself and move forward from today on and not look backwards.
I'm almost out of Lamictal, and I thought I had one more weeks' worth of 50 mgs and I don't, and I don't get paid for another week. I was supposed to have an overtime check of about $50 on Monday, but I think our payroll office screwed up and I won't get the overtime til 10/31, my regular payday, I hate our personnel/payroll office. So that doesn't do me much good. My dh says he'll work and get the $$, but I don't have much faith in that...plus we need other stuff too.
okay...well, get this...my son gets his first report card Monday...he only has four classes...they are LONG classes too, which doesn't help his ADHD in the LEAST! He is getting 2 F's, one D, and one A...the A is in PE. SO, this morning, I made his appt with his pdoc for 11/8 and he is going back on ADHD meds...any advice on which one is best for a 14 y/o who can't concentrate, is VERY hyper, and has no focus? We don't want anything to "sedate" him at all either, or mess with his appetite. Hard, huh?
I don't know what to do either. I'm at a complete LOSS here too. He knows its not acceptable, but I hate to really punish him when I know that its his unmedicated state that is causing most of it. Its sooooooo frustrating!
As for money, I still don't know how I'm going to get a car, short of not paying all my rent this month...but that will short me on Christmas too...and I am one to get my kid everything he wants too...and then I will also be stressing about not paying all my rent...omg, i'm just sick of it all...but i HAVE to get a car! So, I dunno, girlfriend. We're in the same dang boat and I'm tired of rowing!
I need so much, my kid needs a coat too, but luckily we can get away with just a "hoodie" right now...we won't see cold for another 6 weeks...not anything really cold anyway. So that helps. I need clothes. I don't have much for cooler weather. We want to join the YMCA in November too. Its not that expensive for a family membership. I can swim even when my joints and muscles hurt from the Fibro crap, and a very old friend of mine is going to join too, I think. My dh and ds can work out together and I can go with my friend. I lost 50 pounds once with her when we went before, about 7 years ago...I was this big then too. I used to love going. I said then I'd never EVER let myself go like this too, and now look. Actually, I think I'm even bigger. UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH.
Oh well.
As for food and cooking...omg, do I know about that!!! I get so sick of trying to figure out what's for dinner. We spend so much money on eating out, or we did, and now its catching up. I hate it too. I hate having to play that what's in the house to eat game. It really sucks when it gets down to barely anything too.
Hang in there...we'll get through it...at least we aren't the lone ranger...it helps to know that sometimes.
I keep thinking of chopping some of my own hair off too...but its so pathetic, I don't even have a good pair of scissors.
((((((Keli and Donna)))))))) you guys are going through so much and it sucks. I have a couple of ideas I thought I would throw out there, Keli..as for DS and the ADHD meds, ask about Strattera, I have heard it works great for kids.
The dinner situation...I have the same problems, we can afford to eat out alot of times but we are going to try and buy a house so we have to stop all of that. Anyways, one thing that seems to work out great for me, it takes very little planning and you always know whats for dinner, they are called menu mailers.
What it is: every week you are sent an email with a list of all the food/ingredients for a weeks worth of meals and the recipies to go with it and the nutrition information for each meal. There are a bunch of different ones to choose from. We are doing the vegetarian one because of DH's diabetes its the most healthy and lowfat, and we can add meat to almost any of the recipies if we want to. They have low carb, crock pot meals, frugal meals, vegetarian, kosher and a couple more I think. I have done the frugal and the vegetarian. The frugal recipies are really good and not very expensive but fattening most of the time, the vegetarian is cheaper if you dont buy any meat and not as fattening but it has some different recipies that kids might not like so much and some grownups too :)
All you end up doing is printing out the email and checking off what you have already and what you need to buy(it even gives you serving suggestions for the rest of the meal)and take it to the store and shop :) Then you always know what you are having for dinner and if you want you can cook it all on Sunday and freeze it for the rest of the week, or make double and freeze it, whatever.
I love it, it makes dinnertime sooooo much easier. I think I spend usually about $60 for the entire weeks worth of menu dinners, thats with the side dishes and things suggested too. The frugal one I spent about $90, but thats because I bought only chicken breast meat and very lean ground beef and good cuts of meat, if you buy what she suggests(mostly chicken thighs and round steak)its cheaper than that.
Anyways, I just thought I would throw that out there. The cost for the menu mailers is $9.99 for 3 months(it comes out to like 84 cents for each menu) and then they have higher priced ones for longer periods too. They also have a week sample menu for each kind of menu mailer, so you can try em first and see what you think. The website is www.savingdinner.com

I think any of the meds would be ok....if he's hyper, even the stimulants will bring him down..not down down, just get him to sit and focus.
