I'm so excited, I've decided to go back to school to be a Paralegal. In Florida, Paralegals can make up to $80,000 a year depending on your work experience. I can't wait. I haven't signed anything though because I think I may be being a little manic. My parents are concerned (I live with them) and said I should talk to my psychiatrist before doing anything. I guess they are right. I'd love to get a job too. I have been on disability for over a year due to being Bipolar. I am soooooooo tired of sitting around the house and doing nothing. I cook/clean and go to the gym almost everyday. I also go to group therapy on Tuesdays for my Bipolar Disorder. Other than that I don't do anything. It's so frustrating because I'm so young still. I'm only 30 years old and can't work. It's hard because when I am well or manic I feel like I could hold a job, but then there is the crash and I can't even get out of bed let alone go to work. How do you know when you are being manic v. wanting to improve yourself???? Help!!! Thanks for listening - Jena

Jena,

Checking with your pdoc and your tdoc is a good thing, but I hope they both support you.

I hate to rain on your parade, but did you get the salary info on paralegals from the school?

Hi Marci - Thank you for your response. I just got back from going to group therapy and my psychiatrist doesn't think it is a good idea. She feels that I am being to manic right now to make any type of decision. It makes me mad, but at the same time I trust her judgement. Thanks for the input about the paralegal field. I did get the information from the school and now I'm rethinking the whole thing. THanks for the advice - Talk to you soon!
