Fun! I have a question~ On these cold winter days, how do you motivate yourself to get outside and walk or run? It seems so much more tempting to stay inside under a blanket with a cup of coffee!
I have been walking 2 miles on the treadmill 3 times a week between 4 and 4.5 mph.
I want to make a New Year's Resolution to get myself back in shape for 2011.
I have convinced my doctor to postpone hernia surgery until I lose a sufficient amount of weight and get as fit as possible.

Is it okay to walk barefoot in your home? If not, what kind of shoes would you recommend?

When warming up prior to working out, I've heard two different things. Do you want to move vigorously and actively or do you want to slowly and gently stretch?
Also, should you stretch your arms out before walking? Is that necessary?
